Summary

The 5 Choices

the Path to Extraordinary Productivity
Great time management book! The world has gotten more intense since the Day-Timer prototype first came out in 1952, but Franklin Covey’s Time Matrix teaches us how to navigate life’s busyness by minimizing distractions and wasteful activities in favor of acting on more important ones. Page 41 warns us of Q2 enemies and encourages us to pause-clarify-decide on priorities and limiting our roles to 5-7 in our Life Wheel. Then evaluating those roles using a spidergram, we can see which areas of our life are underperforming, ordinary, and extraordinary and how to bring all the areas to a maximum level. Choice 4 offers easy practical tips to winning the battle over emails. (Can you believe the average daily inbox is >120?) The last chapters addresses the power of movement, eating correct brain fuels, sleep hygiene, relaxation and recovery, and connecting with those important to us. I can’t wait to put this system on my daily wall and teach my children the insights that will help them to win over the potentially stressful years to come. Read this book and set up your SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, & Time-bound) goals today!
