This book has a unexpectedly touching storyline about the Cornish island , and it's people. Polly goes to live there as she cannot afford mainland rents. The locals are a colorful bunch, and I love puffin Neil, and Polly's type A friend Kerensa. The book is realistic about how hard it is in remote rural areas to keep enough jobs available, and to keep a small town running. I like that Polly becomes a baker, and loved reading about the breads she bakes, and the real recipes the author includes I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
