Unfriended is one of those unfortunate movies that has an original and interesting idea however said idea was horribly executed. The characters that we have to deal with for an hour and thirty minutes are shallow, fake and overall just horrible human beings. These factors combined really destroys the experience as it is hard to relate to these characters and the situation that they are involved in. The twist is more sad than actually shocking and this is definitely not a good feat. One thing this movie has going for it is the cool concept of being stalked while on your devices and how it can possibly happen to anyone. However the fact that these people don't just turn off the computer and also that this movie somewhat exploits cyberbullying completely destroys anything 'good' about this movie. This is why I would skip this movie, unless you would like a good laugh. 1.5/5 Stars. @TheCollector of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library In my opinion, this movie was much less of a movie and much more of an intense and scary PSA for bullying. A group of teenagers are facetiming each other online when a girl who killed herself a year ago starts messaging one of the girls. This sends the friend group into panic mode as they each know the role that they played in the suicide. My absolute biggest problem with the entire movie is that it revolved around a split screen of faces on a laptop, which was lazy directing and story-writing. The movie would have been so much better if the characters actually left their rooms and interacted in real life. I would rate this movie 1/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
