To be completely honest, my family and I are not vegans nor do I ever believe we will become vegan. This book was checked out because I wanted to try new recipes that were low in sugar and plant based since, quite frankly, my family needs to have more veggies in our lives and less sugar. I have tried a few recipes in this book, although there are many more I would like to try. They are fairly easy to make and I find them quite tasty. Warning to parents: my almost 6 year old has disagreed with the tasty part on some of the recipes! Okay, most of the recipes, but I feel that this is because it is a detour from our typical menu (which usually includes veggies). I did like the authors real-life tips and low-key attitude about families transitioning to a more whole, plant-based diet, if you are interested in doing this.
