A few years ago, Japanese horror had a surge in popularity. The Ring. The Grudge. All based on characters who encountered an Onryo ( a Japanese vengence ghost). This story goes back to the source of that legend. More than that, it tells the story from the perspective of the ghost! A tragic figure yes, but one that has found purpose in fighting back. And now she is faced with fighting for the life of a teenage boy, against a creature, not even she has encountered in her long centuries of afterlife. A unique and engrossing read.
