Because the Rocky Mountains are a source of vast mineral wealth, Colorado's history is closely tied with mining industries. This list contains histories of different aspects of early mining and industry in Colorado, including silver booms, coal mining, quarrying, daily life in mining towns, and guides to mining sites you can visit. Also featured are Douglas County rhyolite quarries and other local industries. Reference and archival items may not be checked out; they can be accessed during normal business hours at the Castle Rock - Philip S. Miller library.
